A Helena Central High product, Tim Racicot spent four grid seasons at Carroll, and started every game at linebacker except the very first one for the Hilltoppers. His finals season, the 5’10” 175-pounder earned 1972 second team All-Conference. As a freshman, Tim was selected the IR’s Player of the Week after posting 15 tackles vs. Eastern Montana. In 1971 he led the Saints in tackles in the 36-19 win over Northern and finished the season No. 5 on the club with 388 defensive points.
Named the defense’s co-captain his senior year, he made CC’s “best hit” in the loss to Minot State. In the 27-6 victory over Eastern, the Saints limited the opposition to 120 yards total offense, while Racicot’s key interception killed a Yellowjackets drive. Carroll (4-3, 3-1) claimed a share of the 1971 Frontier championship for the first time in 12 years. Tim ranked No. 2 in defensive points (485), solo tackles (19) and assists (76). He was also a member of the Hilltoppers’ club soccer team.
