Mark Gallik was a two-time first team All-American wide receiver for the Saints in 2002-03. He established no fewer than five school receiving records, while helping Carroll to its first two national championships.
A 6-foot, 185-pounder from Stevensville, he earned first team All-Frontier his sophomore year in 2001.
As a junior, Gallik caught the winning touchdown in Carroll’s 35-31 victory over Southern Oregon in the quarterfinals of the 2002 NAIA playoffs. He posted 13 catches for 171 yards and two TDs versus the Raiders, the second one clinching the win.
In the 20-17 semifinal win over Sioux Falls, Gallik again caught the game-winner, this time a 28-yarder with 2:47 left to play. He caught seven balls for 102 yards and was named the game’s offensive MVP.
When the Saints won the first of their six national titles, 28-7 over Georgetown (Ky.), Gallik posted six receptions for 104 yards and a TD. He was recognized with a first team All-American selection.
In 2003, Gallik earned his third first team All-Conference citation, and repeated as a first team All-American, as the Saints retained their national crown with an undefeated 15-0 season.
Gallik posted 47 receptions in their four postseason wins, for 625 yards and nine touchdowns.
In the 41-28 victory over Northwestern Oklahoma in the chipper, he caught 13 passes for a school-record 250 yards and three touchdowns.
“(Quarterback Tyler) Emmert to Gallik was just awesome,” Carroll coach Mike Van Diest told the Independent Record afterwards.
“He got so open a couple times, it was almost hard to throw the ball to him,” Emmert added.
Gallik graduated owning the Hilltoppers’ records for game receiving yards, season receiving yards (1,271), career receiving yards (3,846), season touchdown receptions (19) and career touchdown receptions (38).
He also ranks No. 2 on Carroll’s list of game, season and career receptions; and game TD catches.
