Anaconda Central standout center Jim Hogan, who lettered all four years on the Hilltop, was the team’s sixth man/part-time starter as a sophomore, averaging 7 points per game. Serving as the club’s starter the next two seasons, the 6’4” Hogan averaged 9.6 points for the league runners-up in 1955-56. He saved the best for last, garnering a second team All-MCC selection as a senior in 1957. Carroll’s No. 2 scorer with a 12.1 average, Jim paced the team in scoring four times, with four 20-plus point games, highlighted by a 26-point outburst vs. Western Montana. In a late-season 82-80 victory over Eastern in the Magic City, Hogan dumped in the winning basket with 5 seconds on the clock.
