An under-sized fullback from Anaconda at just 5’7” and 145-pounds, Tim Calnan seldom failed to get the Saints a first down on third and short yardage. From 1950-53, the longest of his 12 career rushing touchdowns went for only 23 yards, but he had a special knack for scoring when Carroll needed it. As a sophomore, Tim produced the winning TD on a 3-yard jaunt when the Hilltoppers beat Westminster 7-2. 

In 1952’s loop finale against Rocky Mountain, his opening quarter 4-yard run to pay-dirt broke the ice in the Saints’ eventual 20-14 victory for the Conference title. His senior year, Calnan averaged 5 yards per carry, and helped the blue-and-gold to their fourth straight unbeaten MCC championship and 17th consecutive league win, while garnering second team All-Conference.
