Nicknamed the “Scobey Skyrocket,” the wiry 5’10”, 148-pounder played running back, quarterback, defensive back and returned kicks. In 1949 he scored 6 touchdowns in 4 games and was selected All-MCC. His junior year, Christensen reached the end zone 10 times, set Carroll’s defensive mark of 11 interceptions, and was selected 1950 Catholic College All-American second team. 

In 1951, he garnered his second All-Conference honor; and helped the Saints to back-to-back undefeated MCC titles. He raced to the House 4 times (3 in the first quarter) in a 40-7 win over Rocky Mountain – 46 yard catch, punt returns of 80 and 70, 39 run. Versus Ricks College, Don tied CC’s record of 5 scores, rushing for 31, 49, 73 and 3 yards, and a 9-yard reception. A few other long TDs were 66, 42, 40, 35 yards on the ground; catches of 60, 55, 35; and a 60-yard Pick 6. 

Among Christensen’s Saints’ records were 16 season touchdowns; and lifetime averages of 8 yards a carry and 29 yards per touchdown, and 31 TDs (22 rushing, 6 receiving, 2 PR, 1 interception). He finished with 9 letters – four in football, three in baseball (3B, CF) and two in basketball (high game 26 pts.).
