The Carroll College athletic training staff are committed to keeping the Fighting Saints healthy. These trained professionals are in attendance at every Carroll event and practice.

Head Athletic Trainer: Kristina Ward, MS, ATC, LAT
Education:
BS in Athletic Training from Eastern Washington University - Cheney, Wash. ('07) | MS in Excercise Science from Marshall University - Huntington, W.V. ('09)
Hometown: Manhattan, Mont.
Oversees: Football
Ward started at Carroll in the summer of 2010 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer.
In 2023, Ward was elevated to Assistant Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Health & Well-Being
Prior to coming to Carroll, Ward was a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Marshall where she worked primarily with Volleyball, Track & Field, Tennis and other NCAA Division I sports. As an athletic training student at Eastern Washington, she assisted with both Football and Men's Basketball alongside other programs and clinic settings.
Currently, Ward works with all 17 sports programs, teaches within the Health Science department, and instructs classes within the Hunthausen Activity Center.
In 2024, Ward was honored with the Carroll College Excellence in Service Award for her profound dedication to the betterment of every student-athlete, and years of dedicated service to the institution.
When not serving the Fighting Saints, Ward enjoys spending time with friends and family outdoors hiking, snowshoeing, and being at the lake.
Athletic Trainer: Hunter Lindsay, MS, ATC, LAT

Hometown: Dallas, Ore.
Oversees: Golf, Soccer, Men's Basketball, Softball, Cheer
Lindsay started at Carroll in the summer of 2021 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer.
Prior to working at Carroll, Lindsay was an Athletic Trainer at Regis Jesuit High School in Aurora, Colo. As an Athletic Training student at Montana, Lindsay had the pleasure of working with multiple high schools throughout the state, the Football team at Linfield University (Ore.), as well as multiple Grizzly sports teams.
When he's not helping the Saints recover or prevent injury, Lindsay enjoys spending his free time hiking, camping, and fishing with his golden retriever, Ranger.
Athletic Trainer: Maisie Walters, DAT, CSCS

Walters joined the Saints in the Fall of 2019
Prior to her time at Carroll, Walters spent four years serving as an Athletic Trainer with St. James Hospital in Butte, Mont., servicing Butte HS.
She Holds a Doctorate of Athletic Training from the University of Idaho. Prior, she received her Masters of Science in Exercise and Sport Studies from Boise State, majoring in Kinesiology with and emphasis in Biophysical Studies.
Athletic Trainer: Lea Moose, MAT, LAT, ATC

BS of Exercise Science from Truman State University - Kirksville, Mo. ('22) | MS Athletic Training from the University of Montana - Missoula, Mont. ('24)
Hometown: Weston, Mo.
Moose joined the Saints in the summer of 2024.
Originally from northwestern Missouri, Lea moved to Montana in 2022. She earned her bachelor's degree of exercise science from Truman State University in 2022 then continued on to graduate from the University of Montana's Master of Athletic Training Program in 2024.
During her schooling, Lea completed a variety of clinical rotations providing her the opportunity to work with local youth sports, Missoula high schools, the University of Montana's club and varsity teams, and Carroll College athletics.
Team Physician: Dr. John D. Michelotti

Hometown: Butte, Mont.
Dr. Michelotti, a "90 Carroll College graduate and former Fighting Saint Football Athlete, is a second generation Carroll Football player, with his father having played as well. Dr. Michelotti earned his medical degree from the University of Washington in Seattle, Wash., and completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at their affiliated hospitals. Afterwards, he was selected for advanced fellowship training in Sports Medicine at the Steadman-Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colo., where he worked with the Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies, and the United States Ski Team.
In addition to serving the Fighting Saints, Dr. Michelotti also serves the US Ski Team and local area high schools.
Team Physician: Dr. Andrew Gilbert

Hometown: Great Falls, Mont.
Dr. Gilbert is a Carroll Graduate ('99) and Great Falls, Mont. native. He is a local family physician in Helena, and helps assist with Carroll students' primary health care needs. Dr. Gilbert earned his medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, and completed his residency training in Boise, Idaho with the Family Medicine Residency of Idaho.
Dr. Gilbert is surrounded by Carroll grads, as his family members (Including wife Katie McCarvel - '00), patients (including past professors), and friends. He has two sons, John & Matt, who are die-hard Saints fans! Outside of his love of work, he enjoys spending time in the hills of Helena on his mountain bike, and skiing in the winter with his family.
