A four-year basketball letterman and 3-year starter, Anaconda Central’s Jim Reardon played one hoops season for the 1943 Conference champion Saints, before serving 2½ years in WWII. He returned to the Hilltop for the 1946-47 campaign, serving as co-captain as a sophomore guard, before helping Carroll to a pair of league runner-up hoops finishes his final two seasons.

Described as a hard-worker and one of the team’s “best defensemen,” he could shoot a little bit, too. His senior year, Jim was CC’s No. 3 scorer, averaging 8.5 points per game in 1948-49. He led the blue-and-gold in scoring eight times during his career, with a high of 17 points vs. Ricks College. His other sport was baseball, as a first baseman for the Saints on the diamond. Jim Reardon’s post college career began as a mathematics teacher and basketball coach at Helena Cathedral High, from 1949-58.
