Saints Athletic Hall of Fame
Harry Downs’ alma mater, Helena Cathedral High, did not have a football program. But he was a quick-learner on the gridiron for Carroll, lettering all four years and starting the final three. He was a two-time All-Montana College Conference selection at his tackle position; first team as a junior, and second team in 1955. Harry also played end, defensive back and punter. The Saints captured undefeated league crowns each of his first three seasons. On the hardcourt, Downs lettered three times for Carroll’s hoopsters, as well.
