HELENA, Mont. - Head Coach David Thorvilson has announced the addition of four players in the initial 2024 Carroll Women's Soccer recruiting class.
Following one of the best seasons in recent record, and with only one Senior leaving the program, the Fighting Saints will welcome a small crop of incoming freshmen as they chase the 2024 Cascade Collegiate Conference crown. Maddi Farrington, Morgan Galko, Brooke Mckittric, and Emily Winters will all report to the Hilltop later this summer.
"We are coming off a successful 2023 season and only graduate one senior this year." Said Thorvilson. "This first group of recruits help add depth in areas that we need or will graduate this following season. We will finish up our recruiting for the 2024 class in the next month."
The class, to this point, features one player from Washington, one from Alaska, and a pair of teammates from Sentinel HS in Missoula.
Morgan Galko |Â Anchorage, Alaska | South Anchorage HS
Galko joins the Saints following a terrific high school career in which her team won the 2023 Alaska Division 1 State Championship. In 2022, Galko was named All-region, and prior to that in 2021 she was named SAHS Defensive Player of the Year. At the club level, her Arctic Rush Women's UPSL team were league champions from 2021-2023, and she was also a member of the 2023 Dome League Champion Cook Inlet HS Elite team. In addition to her soccer accolades, Galko was named 2023 first team all-conference Flag Football Linebacker.
She is the daughter of Brandy and Jason Galko, and will graduate in the spring with a 3.73 GPA, with the intent to study Nursing at Carroll.
"After meeting the team and seeing the campus, I decided that Carroll was a perfect fit!" Said Galko. "Helena is such a beautiful place and Carroll prioritizes both the students and their education!"
"I was lucky enough to be invited to a college ID camp in Alaska last June and got to watch Morgan for the first time and she impressed me." Said Thorvilson. "With her visit to campus and practicing with the team the coaching staff knew she would be a good fit in our midfield."

Madeline Farrington | Graham, Washington | Bellarmine Preparatory HS
Farrington had a great prep career where she was a captain of her Bellarmine Prep squad. She was a three-year varsity letter-winner, and was named all-league South Puget Sound League. She was also a team captain of Washington Premier FC ECRL, a club team that was Northwest Region Champion, competed at the ENCL national tournament, and was two time Washington State Presidents Cup Champion.
She is the daughter of Todd and Tabatha Farrington, and will graduate in the spring with a 3.1 GPA, intending to study Kinesiology here at Carroll.
"I chose Carroll College because during my visit for a college tour, I truly felt the strong sense of community that the college embodies." Said Farrington. "The teachers and students were incredibly welcoming, and I was particularly drawn to the charming town. Additionally, as someone passionate about playing collegiate soccer at a competitive level, the opportunity to join a strong team was a significant factor in my decision. I am thrilled at the prospect of being part of this wonderful community while pursuing my passion."
"I first watched Madi play in a showcase tournament last year in Las Vegas, we reconnected this last fall when she came and watched us play in Seattle." Said Thorvilson. "Although we don't graduate much of this year's team, our lone senior is an outside back so Madi will give us some much needed depth in that position."
Emily Winters | Missoula, Montana | Sentinel HS
Winters is the first of two Spartans who will join the program this fall. As a member of the Sentinel Girls Soccer team, she was twice named Defender of the Year, and was an Honorable Mention All-State selection last season.
She is the daughter of Angie and Richie Winters, and will graduate this spring with a 3.5 GPA. She intends on majoring in Biochemistry, joining Carroll's Pre-Dental track.
"I chose Carroll because I fell in love with the atmosphere and the campus." Said Winters. "I felt at home right away on my visit to Carroll and it just felt like a place I could spend the next years of my life!Â
"I have gotten to track Emily through her high school and club seasons." Said Thorvilson. "She is very versatile player, primarily an outside back, but has the skill and quality to play up front when needed"
Brooke Mckittrick | Missoula, Mont. | Sentinel HS
Mckittrick will join teammate Emily Winters at Nelson Stadium this fall. At Sentinel, she was one of the best conditioned athletes on the pitch, having clocked the fastest two-mile run of all the Spartans, and will look to bring the same energy to the Carroll program. Mckittrick excels in the classroom as well, as a member of the National Honors Society, and a three-year Academic All-State selection.
Brooke is the daughter of Jamie and Dan Mckittrick, and will graduate this spring with a 3.9 GPA. At Carroll Mckittrick intends to study Kinesiology and Sports Medicine.
"I chose Carroll College because as soon as I visited it and took a tour of the campus I fell in love with the atmosphere." Said Mckittrick. "I also really liked how the class sizes were so small and how the professors know all the students in the class. I wanted to go to a college where I have a relationship with my professor. Lastly, it had my intended major, which to me was the most important factor."Â
"Brooke is a strong technical player with good pace and will help add some depth to our midfield group." Said Thorvilson. "She had a good senior year in the middle of the pitch for Sentinel."
Coach Thorvilson will look to round out the 2024 class in the coming weeks before the Carroll Women begin spring practices next month.
