HELENA, Mont. - Carroll College Athletics is proud to present another installment of a celebration of our outstanding Fighting Saints who model excellence in all they do, embodying the NAIA Champions of Character values of respect, integrity, responsibility, servant leadership, and sportsmanship.
Student-athletes from each program will be recognized as our Fighting Saints Champions of Character throughout the year. Carroll Athletics is excited to partner with Joe Mitchell State Farm to sponsor this recognition of our student-athletes. Joe Mitchell State Farm is a proud new corporate champion of Carroll Athletics, supporting all 17 sports and 400-plus student-athletes.
Women's Soccer - Ella Kuenzli (Bigfork, Mont. / SR)
The 2025 Carroll Women's Soccer Champion of Character is
Ella Kuenzli, a senior midfielder from Bigfork, Mont.
One of the most engaged student-athletes on the Carroll campus, Kuenzli is involved in numerous groups working towards the betterment of the institution. For the past two years, Keunzli has been a Senator for the Associated Students of Carroll College (ASCC) - serving as Vice President this year. Additionally, she's served as a Women's Soccer representative on the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) for two years as well. Throughout her time, she has volunteered to serve on student panels assisting the Carroll admissions department, and was a volunteer for the Presidential search committee. Kuenzli is a true leader, as evidenced by her two-year captaincy on the Women's Soccer team.
"Ella's impact on the Carroll Community does not go unnoticed." said Head Coach David Thorvilson "She has been a team captain the last two years, a member of our SAAC as well as on our student body council. She is an exceptional student-athlete along with a driven personality to make those around her better."
"Ella embodies what a Saint truly is." said goalkeeper
Maria Ackerman "She is an incredibly bright light on our team, as well as in our Carroll community. When she attends practice, a meeting, or an event on campus, she intends to leave a lasting and positive impact. Ella puts a lot of work in quietly and never expects recognition in return. She celebrates others' successes as if they were her own! Ella is determined to make the world around her a better place, and she deserves all of the blessings coming her way!"
"Ella is the most positive, thoughtful and upbeat person I know." said fellow senior midfielder
Sydney Coulter "She always puts in 100 percent to everything she is doing and strives for a different type of excellence, which makes others want to do the same! She's kind, compassionate and always see the best in people no matter what. She's truly so hard working and encouraging and that's what makes her such a great friend, teammate, and captain."Â
Men's Soccer - Adam Webster (Las Vegas, Nev. / SR)
The 2025 Men's Soccer Champion of Character is
Adam Webster, a senior midfielder from Las Vegas, Nev.
Adam Webster is a true leader and the glue that holds the Men's Soccer team together. He plays a key role both on and off the field, serving as a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) where he represents the Men's Soccer team and provides a thoughtful, steady voice in student affairs. Known for his compassion, clarity, and high standards - Adam communicates directly and effectively, always striving to reward strong performances and maintain accountability within the group. Beyond soccer, Adam gives back to the Helena community through his volunteer work with Helena Food Share and by helping organize SAAC-led community service events.
"Adam is one of those players who brings energy and laughter to every single day." said Head Coach Austin Shick "He's a bit off the wall at times, but that's what makes him special — he has a way of keeping the team loose while still holding himself to a high standard. His joy for the game and care for his teammates perfectly capture what it means to be a Champion of Character."
"Everyone knows Adam's a little goofy, but that's what we love about him." said defender Joseph Satterthwaite "He can make the whole team laugh one minute and then be locked in the next. He's the first to pick someone up when things aren't going well and the last to let anyone feel left out. You can always count on him to bring positivity and heart."
"Adam's personality is one of a kind," said captain Sam Loughton "he's always joking around, keeping things fun, but underneath that, he's one of the most genuine and dependable guys on the team. His mix of humor, hard work, and care for others sets the tone for what we want our culture to be about."
