HELENA, Mont. -- Carroll College head women's soccer coach David Thorvilson has announced four more signees for their 2021 recruiting class as Hattie Larson, Alexandra Moeller, Kaylyn Becker, and Steffi Smith have made the decision to play for the Saints.

"We are happy to announce the final signings for our 2021 recruiting class," said Thorvilson. "These four players fill in some much needed depth to our roster and help make us better going into the fall season."

Now let's meet the newest Fighting Saints!

Hattie Larson / 5-foot-11 / Goalkeeper / Sandpoint, Idaho

Hattie Larson joins the Fighting Saints after a high school career in which she was regarded as one of the top student-athletes in North Idaho. Larson saw a lot of success, not only in soccer, but also as a golfer and basketball player. As a senior, she was a team captain in all three sports and was a four-year letter winner in all three as well. Throughout her high school career, Larson won a state championship in soccer and placed seventh individually at the State Golf Tournament helping lead her team to a first-place finish. She was selected to the all-state team in soccer three times and was all-league in basketball three times. Larson was also voted North Idaho Female Athlete of the Year. Larson, the daughter of Brandon and Natalie Larson, plans to study Biology and Environmental Science at Carroll and was a 4.0 student in high school.

Quote from Hattie Larson on why she chose Carroll: "I chose Carroll because of the tight knit community, faith opportunities, and great athletic programs."

Quote from Coach Thorvilson on Hattie: "Hattie Larson is a multi-sport standout at the high school level and will be coming into Carroll to compete as both a golfer and soccer player.  She is strong, athletic, and driven and will round out our goal keeper core."

Steffi Smith / 5-foot-2 / Center Forward and Center Midfield / Castro Valley, Calif.

Steffi Smith makes her way to Carroll from Castro Valley, Calif., after an excellent high school career where she patrolled the middle of the field for her team. The Covid-19 pandemic got in the way of a lot of her time as an upperclassman, but before that she was an all-league honorable mention player, and helped lead her team to the semi-finals. The 2021 California high school season recently came to an end, and Smith led her team in assists. She was also a team captain. Steffi, who is the daughter of Bobby and Sue Smith, graduated high school with a 3.7 GPA and plans on studying nursing this fall when she sets foot on campus. She is not the first in her family to play soccer at Carroll. Her older cousin is Madison Apsey, who played for the Saints from 2014-2017.

Quote from Steffi on why she chose Carroll: "Carroll is the best fit for me overall, from the people, the nursing program and the girls on the team. I feel as if Carroll is where I'm meant to be."

Quote from Coach Thorvilson on Steffi: "Steffi Smith is a strong midfielder with good vision. Although COVID has affected much of her ability to play over the last year, she has found continued success with her high school team and will be a good addition to our team."

Kaylyn Becker / 4-foot-11 / Midfield / Ione, Calif.

Kaylyn Becker transfers to Carroll with some experience under her belt at the college level after playing at Bellevue College in Bellevue, Wash. Before that, Becker played high school ball at Amador High School in Sutter Creek, Calif., where she thrived in her role as a forward and wide midfielder. During her time in High School, Becker helped lead her team to a section championship. In the classroom, Becker achieved a 3.36 GPA and earned a transfer associates degree in arts and sciences at Bellevue College, and will pursue a Health Sciences degree with the intention of heading down the physical therapy career path. She is the daughter of Tim and Karen Becker, and her older sister, Jessica, played soccer for the Saints from 2014-2017.

Quote from Coach Thorvilson on Kaylyn: "Kaylyn Becker is a transfer coming to us from Bellevue College after a successful junior college career.  After watching her older sister (Jessica) play for the Saints, her understanding of our program and work ethic will help her challenge our returners."

Alexandra Moeller / 5-foot-4 / Goalkeeper / Rock Springs, Wyo.

Alexandra Moeller makes her way to Helena after helping lead Rock Springs High School to their first ever State Championship this past season. In her senior season, Moeller capped off an excellent career totaling 12 shutouts, 55 saves, and only 6 goals allowed in 18 games. She also punched in a goal and had one assist on the year. In her high school career, she was a three-time regional champion and an all-conference selection before going out on top as a state champion. Alexandra, the daughter of Brandy and Chad Moeller, plans to study nursing in her time at Carroll and was a 4.0 student in high school. She is also a relative of Carroll Football great, Jeff Shirley.

Quote from Alexandra Moeller on why she chose Carroll: "I chose Carroll because during my campus tour I fell in love with the campus. I have heard many positive things about their nursing program and the school. I also felt like I fit right in with the team when I practiced with them. I am so excited to be a Saint."

Quote from Coach Thorvilson on Alexandra: "Alexandra Moeller is coming fresh off a high school championship and a great season in Goal.  Her athletic ability and willingness to sacrifice her body in goal will add to the strength of our goal keeper group this year."
