KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Gabrielle Lougen scored in the 80th minute to earn Carroll College a 1-1 draw with Oregon Tech in a Cascade Collegiate Conference match on Saturday at the OIT Soccer Field.
Coming-off a 1-1 draw yesterday at Southern Oregon, the Fighting Saints (2-2-6, 1-0-4) found yet another late goal on Saturday to escape the weekend with a pair of draws.
Although the Saints heavily outshot the Owls, 17-5 and had an 8-4 edge in shots on goal, it would be Oregon Tech who scored first. Kaelyn Jaentsch broke the scoreless tie in the 40th minute, and the Owls led 1-0 at halftime.
Carroll controlled the second half, but found themselves still trailing with just 10 minutes remaining. Finally, the breakthrough would come in the in the 80th minute. Gabrielle Lougen (Camas, Wash. / FR) scored a late equalizer off an Erin Coulter (Colorado Springs, Colo. / FR) assist.
For the second-straight day, Maria Ackerman (Billings, Mont. / SO) made three saves in goal for Carroll.
The Saints are back on the road next weekend, heading to the College of Idaho on Friday, followed by a showdown with Eastern Oregon on Saturday.
