Box Score HELENA, Mont. -- The No. 6-ranked Carroll College Fighting Saints women's basketball team took down the Montana State-Northern Skylights for the second time in as many nights, winning 65-59.
The Saints (10-1, 4-0 Frontier Conference) held a 53-42 lead entering the fourth quarter and mostly kept the Skylights (1-5, 0-2) at bay. Carroll only allowed Northern to get within seven at the tightest juncture of the final period.
Carrol shot 46% percent from the field while holding Northern to a 39% effort from the field. The Saints, for a second consecutive evening, outrebounded the Skylights 31-23. Carroll also held a decided advantage in the interior, outscoring Northern 32-16 in the paint.
Sophomore
Jamie Pickens scored a game-high 19 points, while three other Saints also reached double figures. Redshirt sophomore
Maddie Geritz scored 14, while seniors
Danielle Wagner added 13 and
Christine Denny scored another 10.
Sienna Swannack scored five points and had a career-high 12 rebounds.
It was the Saints' third consecutive win. Carroll will once again be on the road this weekend as they travel to face Providence on Saturday and Sunday.
