No. 24 Carroll Women Win First Game of LC State Classic

LEWISTON, Idaho – The No. 24-ranked Carroll Women's Basketball team kept their record clean on Saturday, picking up a 54-37 win over Southern Oregon in game one of the LC State Classic at the P1FCU Activity Center.

The Fighting Saints (3-0) have held the upper hand in a trio of games against CCC opponents to start the 2026-27 season, continuing the trend with a 17-point win over the Raiders (0-3).

It was a sluggish start as a whole for the Saints, as they trailed after one 13-16. Carroll shot just 28 percent in the frame, while Kenzie Allen (Grantsville, Utah / SR) and Jillian Kanduch (Miles City, Mont. / SO) were the only two Saints who came away with points. Both went 2-3 from the floor, combining for all 13 points in the frame (Allen – 8, Kanduch – 5).

The scoring started to balance out in the second quarter, while the Carroll defense tightened the clamps in a big way. Maddy Moy (Kalispell, Mont. / JR) and Gracie Millimen (Manhattan, Mont. / R-SO) each put up four points, as the Saints shot 50 percent in the frame. Defensively, they limited the Raiders to just one field goal and forced five turnovers, as SOU went just 1-12 from the floor to help Carroll take a 28-21 lead at the break.

The defensive dominance continued in the second half for the Saints. Over the final three quarters of the afternoon, Carroll allowed nine or less points in each frame. Kanduch and Allen combined for another 10 points in the third, helping Carroll extend their lead to 11 heading into the fourth, where Gracie Millimen continued her strong evening with a team-best six points to help the Saints close out the win.

Allen led all players, finishing with 17 points while going 5-10 from the floor, 3-5 from range, and a perfect 4-4 at the stripe.

Kanduch scored 14 points in the win, knocking down all six of her free throw attempts, while Millimen rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points and seven boards.
Maddy Moy finished just one bucket short of a double-double, posting eight points and a game-high 11 boards in the win.

The Saints will be right back in action tomorrow, taking on (RV) Lewis-Clark State to wrap up the weekend event in Lewiston.
