Box Score HELENA, Mont. -- The No. 6-ranked Carroll College Fighting Saints used a big second half to take down Montana State-Northern 53-48 in Havre on Monday evening.
The Saints (9-1, 3-0 Frontier Conference) were led in scoring by
Sienna Swannack, who finished with 12 points. The junior guard from Nine Mile Falls, Washington, hit 5-of-10 field goals.
Maddie Geritz joined her in double figures with 10 points while adding seven rebounds.
Carroll battled the Skylights to a 23-23 halftime score, but in the third quarter, the Saints pulled ahead.
The Saints closed the third on an 11-3 run, capped off by a score in the paint from
Molly McDermott. Northern would get the final score in the quarter, but the Saints would hold an eight-point lead going into the fourth quarter, 41-33.
The Skylights' outscored Carroll 15-12 in the fourth, but it wasn't enough.
The Saints dominated the boards, outrebounding the Skylights 34-24.. Carroll also found its way to the free-throw line, knocking down 20-of-28. Northern hit just 9-of-11.
Carroll and Northern square off once again on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
