LAS VEGAS – Cassidy Hashley scored 16 points and Bailey Snelling added 10 to lead Carroll College to a 55-43 win over Hope International (Calif.) in the Saints' final game of the Frontier Las Vegas Shootout.
Both teams started slow but the Saints took the lead (9-8) on Jordan Johnston a jumper in the paint with 12:36 left in the first half.
The Saints never trailed the rest of the game building their advantage to 22 with 11:06 remaining before Hope cut the lead to 55-43 at the buzzer.
The victory was the second in two days and third game in consecutive days.
"I'm really happy for our team," head coach Rachelle Sayers said. "We were pretty spent after two tough battles but these kids are resilient and they came here to win and they refused to leave without doing what we came to do."
Carroll held Hope to 18-of-57 from the field and outrebounded the Royals 40-31. The Saints also held hope to just 15 first-half points.
The Saints are the now 8-4 on the season and Hope is 8-5.
Carroll now has two weeks off before returning to action on Jan. 4 against the University of Calgary.
"It's a great way to go into Christmas break," Sayers said. "These kids deserve a few days off and then it's back to work!"
