Biography
Senior forward and Helena native Michaela Dowdy will be asked to step up this season in the absence of Cassidy Hashley who will take a medical redshirt this season. Dowdy brings an innate scoring sense and a strong ability to rebound the ball, especially on the offensive end.
She has scored 295 career points in limited minutes, including a career-high 153 in her junior year. She has 186 career rebounds and has grabbed more than 80 each of the last two seasons.
She helped Capital to the 2013 state championship where averaged 12.3 points per game and 5.7 rebounds per game in the state tournament. Dowdy earned all-conference honors and was selected to the all-tournament team. During the regular season, she averaged eight points and five rebounds per game, and set a school record in season field goal percentage (62 percent).
“Michaela Dowdy would be a starter on every Frontier Conference team. It's an exciting opportunity for her to step into the starting role this season,” head coach Rachelle Sayers said.
