2017-18 Women's Basketball Roster
Biography
Bailey Pasta enters her senior season with high expectations. She joins Michaela Dowdy as the two seniors on the squad after it was announced that Cassidy Hashley and Sara Chalich will redshirt.
Â
Pasta had a break-out junior season in the starting point guard role after backing up Katie Estey for her first two seasons. She tallied 323 points, including 41 made three pointers in 2016-17. She had a career-high 86 assists her junior year and comes into her senior season with 159 for her career. She earned Honorable Mention All-Conference honors and was named to the Academic All-Conference Team.
Â
She will be counted on to pace the offense and her leadership will be invaluable without the presence of Hashley an All-American.
Â
Originally from Boise, Idaho, Bailey was a four-year letterwinner at Skyview High School in Nampa, Idaho. She led her team to a state championship in 2014. She was named 1st team All-State and Conference Player of the Year in 2014. She played in the North vs. South All-Star Game and was the MVP in 2014. She also earned Academic All-State honors from 2012-2014.Â
"Bailey had a good year last year, after playing two years behind Katie Estey in a more limited role," Head Coach Rachelle Sayers said. "She took over some games last year for us. She is another one that has improved her game, conditioning and strength, which is only going to help her. Last year, there were a lot of times at the end of the game where we were counting on her to make a play, and she was exhausted. I think having our freshman withÂ
Christine Denny andÂ
Jaidyn Lyman. We're going to be able to give her the rest she needs, where she can compete at full strength in every game."
