HELENA, Mont. - The No. 21-ranked Carroll Women's Basketball team returns to the court this evening, hosting future Frontier Conference foe and No. 18-ranked Mayville State at the Carroll College PE Center at 7 p.m.

The Fighting Saints (4-3) will look to keep stacking wins throughout the calendar year before heading into conference play at the beginning of the new year. Next in line, the No. 18 Comets (7-1).

Reigning Frontier Conference Defensive Player of the Week, Willa Albrecht (Billings, Mont. / R-JR) has been on a heater over the past couple of weeks. The lengthy guard has been the most impressive player on the court as of late, and is among the nation's top scorers over the past two weeks. Entering tonight's game, Albrecht has games of 20, 30, and 15 points over her last three, while posting multiple double-doubles and crashing the glass as well.

Knocking down shots is the name of the game for the Saints this season. In Carroll's three losses they are shooting just 30.3 percent from the floor, while in the four wins the Saints have shot 45.5 percent from the field as a team.

Mayville State, an NAIA Women's Basketball Championship Final Site participant last season, enters the night on a five-game win-streak. The Comets dropped an early season bout to Montana Tech, but responded with a win over Montana Western to start their current hot streak.

Carroll Athletics is partnering once again with Van's Thriftway to help keep local-area Head Start students warm this winter. Fans attending tonight's game are encouraged to bring and donate new or lightly used winter hats, gloves, snow pants, winter jackets, socks and shoes (Size 3T-6X, Shoes 11-4) to help local children in need. Donation boxes will be located at each entrance, and all donations are greatly appreciated.
