CHANDLER, Ariz. - The Carroll College Women's Basketball team will play three games in as many days in sunny Arizona at the 2024 Cactus Classic, taking place at Chandler-Gilbert Community College.

Entering the game ranked No. 21, the Fighting Saints will play three games over the next three days, led-off with a showdown against No. 3 Campbellsville (Ky.) this afternoon at 12 p.m.

Friday and Saturday will see the Saints take on a pair of somewhat familiar faces, Stephens (Mo.) and No. 19 Arizona Christian at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectively. 

Campbellsville enters the Cactus Classic as the highest-ranked team in the event with an unbeaten 10-0 record, including a 51-40 win over Montana Tech yesterday afternoon to start their week in the desert.

Though both the Saints and the Tigers have been among the best in the NAIA over the past several years, the two teams haven't played each other since the 2014-15 season, a 46-40 Campbellsville win on a neutral floor in Las Vegas.

Friday, the Saints will play the Stars from Stephens College at 2 p.m. The Stars were Carroll's opponent at last season's annual Field Trip Game, which Carroll won 62-50. Stephens went on to compete in the NAIA National Tournament last year, and are off to a 5-5 start in 2024-25.

Carroll will wrap up the event on Saturday at 4 p.m. in a rematch with No. 19 Arizona Christian. The Firestorm spoiled the Saints' season opener, battling back for a 69-59 win on Halloween at the PE Center. The Firestorm now own a pair of wins over the Saints in the last two seasons, and Carroll will look to get their revenge in the desert this weekend.

The Cactus Classic is a Frontier Conference showcase, with nearly every team from the league competing on either the Men's or Women's side of the action.

This is Carroll's first trip to the tournament since the 2021-22 season.
