Women's Basketball | 11/25/24 | 11:00 AM
HELENA, Mont. - The No. 9-ranked Carroll Women's Basketball team will host Bushnell University tonight to kick off their Thanksgiving week with a 7 p.m. tip-off at the Carroll College PE Center.
The Fighting Saints (2-3) will look to even their early season record as they host the Beacons (1-2) this evening in Helena.
Carroll enters the night with a sub-.500 record through five games, but the adversity is nothing new to a team who hangs its hat on being battle-tested come tournament time. The Saints are no stranger to early season losses, as they construct some of the most difficult annual non-conference schedules in the NAIA on purpose.
The Saints will enter tonight's matchup with a bit of momentum, coming off of a hard-earned 62-57 win over Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) last week in the annual Field Trip Game, as they look to even their record at 3-3 heading into the final month of non-conference play.
At times this season, the Saints have gone cold from the floor, but Carroll will enter the game coming off one of their best shooting percentages of the season against the Eagles (40 percent).
Willa Albrecht (Billings, Mont. / R-JR) had one of her best performances of the season last week against ERAU, scoring 20 points to lead all players, while pulling down six boards and adding three steals and a block. Keeping Albrecht rolling will be a huge factor as the Saints near conference play.
Bushnell enters the night coming off a loss to Rocky on Saturday, and tonight's game will be the middle match of a three-game Montana swing for the Beacons. After tonight's game, they'll head North to play Providence on Tuesday.
The Beacons have a pair of players averaging 16 or more points per game in Libby Mathis (16.0 ppg) and Mandy Sisul (17.3 ppg).
Tonight's game will be streamed live on the Fighting Saints Network
