KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has released the teams and host sites for the 2024 NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship. The 40-team field starts the NAIA National Championship First & Second Rounds presented by Select Sport America, at 16 campus locations from November 21 to 23. The (RV) Carroll College Men's Soccer team will head to Bartlesville, Okla. in a three-team pod to begin their first-ever Championship pursuit.
The Fighting Saints (14-3-3, 11-1-1) made history in 2024, earning their first Cascade Collegiate Conference championship in program history, securing an automatic qualifying position for the NAIA National Championship. On Saturday, the national office released the opening round host sites and matchups, and Carroll heard their name called for the first time in school history.
The Saints will kick off their tournament on Thursday, November 21 against Hope International (Calif.) in Bartlesville, Okla., with No. 2-seed Oklahoma Wesleyan awaiting the winner. Game times for the opening round matches have yet to be established.
Hope International (14-3-3, 9-2-3) enters the tournament on a six-game winning-streak, having captured their second-consecutive GSAC Tournament title late last week.Â
The Saints and the Royals do have some common ground on the season, as both sides had matches against Oregon Tech, Eastern Oregon, and Life Pacific. Carroll had a record of 2-1-1 against those common opponents, while Hope International was 4-0.
This will be the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
Carroll will head to Oklahoma early this week, looking to secure the program's first NAIA Championship win in school history.
