HELENA, Mont. - The No. 11 Carroll College Women's Basketball team will look to defend their home-court tonight as they prepare to host No. 22 Rocky Mountain College at 5 p.m. in the Carroll College PE Center.
The Fighting Saints (16-5, 7-1) fresh off of a 72-46 win over Montana Tech on Saturday, will look to even the season series with No. 22 Rocky Mountain College (15-5, 7-1) who have won their last three games.
The Battlin' Bears picked up a win in the first meeting between the two schools earlier this month, holding off a late Carroll comeback attempt for a 58-51 win.
Tonight's game, much like the first, will be an opportunity for the Saints to grab an outright lead in the Frontier Conference standings. Both schools are tied at the top of the conference at 7-1, with No. 15 Montana Western sitting right behind them at 6-2.Â
Carroll will look to slow down Rocky's Kloie Thatcher, who scored 22 points in the teams' first meeting, going 4-9 from three point range.Â
The Saints' trio of front court players,
Jamie Pickens (Helena, Mont. / SR),
Genesis Wilkinson (Moses Lake, Wash. / SR) and Frontier Conference Player of the Week
Maddie Geritz (Boise, Idaho / R-SR) have been on a roll as of late, averaging 37 points per game as a group over the last three games. Pickens remains one of the league's top scoring threats, averaging 15.1 points per game on the year.
With the remaining two games in the season series being held in Helena, Carroll will look to feed off of Saints fans' energy and secure the tiebreaker over the Bears.
Tonight's match up will be streamed live on the
Fighting Saints Network: presented by Point S Tire & Auto Service, and live stats can be found
