LAKE WALES, Fla. – The No. 11 Carroll Women's Basketball team made a rare cross-country trek to the East Coast, where they will be competing in the Warner Classic this weekend.
The Fighting Saints (6-4, 2-0) have played only once in the past two weeks, a tough road loss at now-ranked No. 10 Lewis-Clark State, but are looking to regroup and score a couple of big wins heading into a Christmas break.
Carroll will play a pair of schools in the event, Webber International (2-7) and host-school Warner (6-4).
"We're really excited to have three more quality games before Christmas." Said Head Coach Rachelle Sayers "We are looking forward to getting back to doing the little things and competing the way that we know we can."
Jamie Pickens (Helena, Mont. / SR / F) finds herself inside the top-five in Frontier Conference points per game (15.1), rebounds per game (6.8), and field-goal percentage (53.8), while
Sienna Swannack (Nine Mile Falls, Wash. / GR / G) is currently leading the conference in three-point percentage (42.6).
Carroll will open play on Saturday with a 12 p.m. (MST) matchup with Webber International, who will likely be led by Jaida Burgess, who is averaging 15.4 points per game.
The Saints will play again on Sunday at 2 p.m. (MST) against host-school Warner University, who's Chanelle McDonald is averaging 14.2 points per game and 8.8 rebounds per game.
