HELENA, Mont. - The No. 4 Carroll College Women's Basketball team will take on the Lancers of Grace College tonight in Winona Lake, Ind. at 5 p.m. (MST).
Carroll (1-2) will look to start their three-game swing in the Midwest off on the right foot with a win tonight at Grace (2-0). The Fighting Saints, coming off of a 62-54 loss to No. 1 Thomas More on Friday, will have their hands full tonight with a Lancer squad that won 20 games a year ago, and are averaging 96 points per game in their two wins to start 2022-23.
Head Coach Rachelle Sayers made a concerted effort to load Carroll's non-conference schedule with high-quality opponents, tonight being no exception, as the Saints look to make a push come tournament time in March.
Jamie Pickens (Helena, Mont. / SR) has been outstanding for the Saints to start 2022-23. Pickens posted a double-double on Friday against the No. 1 team in the nation, finishing with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Addi Ekstrom (Bozeman, Mont. / SO) has also been stellar early on the year, averaging 8.3 points per game and making big shots at key moments.
Pickens and the Saints will be tasked with slowing down a Lancer attack that is led by their center, Karlee Feldman, who enters tonight averaging 25 points per game and 13 rebounds.
