LEWISTON, Idaho -- After a bye on the first day of the NAIA National Tournament, The Carroll Women's Basketball team will begin their quest for a title on Saturday evening against Lewis-Clark State at 6 p.m. MST.
LC State defeated William Jessup on Friday by a final score of 73-44 to earn a matchup against the Saints with a trip to Sioux City on the line.
Saturday's game will be the fourth time this season that Carroll and LC State go toe to toe. Back in November, the Saints took down the Warriors by a final score of 99-48. Then in December, the Saints made the trip to Lewiston for back-to-back games against the Warriors. Carroll won the first of those 65-60 with LC State taking the second one 60-50. That loss was one of two total losses on the season for this Carroll team.
Entering the Tournament, Carroll will lean on the production of their trio of first team all-conference players in Danielle Wagner, Christine Denny, and Jamie Pickens. Wagner, a senior guard from Havre, Mont., is the Saints' leading scorer with an average of 15.22 points per game.
The Warriors are led by Montana product, Kiara Burlage. Burlage, a senior forward from Columbia Falls, Mont., averages 16.77 points per game.
