HELENA, Mont. -- The No. 17-ranked Carroll College Fighting Saints women's basketball team will look to get back on track against Montana Tech on Wednesday.
The Saints (14-8, 6-4 Frontier Conference) seek to break a two-game skid after falling to No. 24 Rocky Mountain College and No. 22 Montana Western last week.
Carroll will face an Orediggers (12-10, 2-8) team that it had success against to open up the conference schedule. Back on December 3, the Saints defeated the Orediggers 78-51.
The Saints will look for more big play from Dani Wagner (14.1 points per game) and
Christine Denny (11.3 ppg). Denny also leads the team in rebounding (6.4), while
Kamden Hilborn leads the team in assists (3.4), rounding out a stout guard attack for the Saints.
In addition to the offensive firepower, the Saints hold the No. 4-ranked total rebound defense in the NAIA (30).
The Orediggers enter the game after claiming a road win over Montana State-Northern on Feb. 1. Led by Mesa Williams' conference-leading 16.9 points per game, MTT could be finding its form heading into the final third of the season.
The Orediggers pack a talented perimeter defense with them. MTT holds opposing shooters to 25% from the three-point line, which is the No. 4 mark in the NAIA.
Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
