HELENA, Mont. — Carroll College soccer players Charly Clements and Leo Georgiades were selected as CoSIDA Academic All-District award winners, the organization announced Thursday.

The 2019 Academic All-District Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Honorees selected First Team Academic All-District advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. Academic All-America honorees will be announced in early December.

Clements and Georgiades will now be in the running for Academic All-America honors.

Clements and Georgiades were two of several very distinguished Saints nominated for the award. As members of both soccer teams, each displays prowess in the classroom with high GPAs and a knack on the pitch. Votes by members of CoSIDA propelled them to the honor and will determine if they become Academic All-Americans.
