No. 7 Carroll WBB travels to Oregon to face No. 14 Corban

HELENA, Mont. -- The No.-7 ranked Carroll College women's basketball team hits the road again, traveling to Salem, Oregon, to take on No. 14 (NAIA D-II) Corban on Thursday.

"Corban will be another great road test for us," Saints coach Rachelle Sayers said. "They were picked to finish second in their league and went to the Sweet 16 last year at the national tournament."

The Saints catch the Warriors after a Montana road trip. Corban (2-3) went 0-3 in the Treasure State. The Warriors fell 69-43 to Montana State-Northern, lost 86-63 to Providence and then dropped a game to Montana State Billings, 75-49.

This season, Corban is 0-4 against Frontier Conference opponents. The Saints will be the fifth Frontier team the Warriors will face.

Corban is led by senior guard Jordan Woodvine, who is averaging 18.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. Last season, Woodvine was selected as an NAIA Division II first team All-American.

"They have a great player in NAIA All-American and Boise State transfer Jordan Woodvine who we will have to keep in check. They are also very long so our posts are definitely going to be tested."

Carroll (3-2) will be back on the road for the second time this season. The Saints went 1-1 in Spokane, Washington, last week, defeating Whitworth 98-56 before falling to Whitman 74-72.

The Saints are currently led in scoring by Dani Wagner (13 ppg) and Sienna Swannack (12.8 ppg). The team is No. 4 in the NAIA in total rebound defense (28.2) and No. 7 in the NAIA in field goal percentage (48 percent).

Last season, the Saints played the Warriors in the PE Center and came away with a 57-48 victory.

Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
