Carroll women's soccer earns three second team all-conference picks, one honorable mention

HELENA, Mont. -- Four members of the Carroll College Fighting Saints women's soccer team were named all-Cascade Collegiate Conference, the league announced late Monday.

Katie Anderson, Charly Clements and Makayla Welch were named Second Team All-Conference, while Taryn Neameyer was an honorable mention.

Anderson, a sophomore from Spokane, Washington, started in 14 games and helped a Saints defense that recorded seven shutouts this season.

Clements, a senior midfielder from Nederland, Colorado, started in 16 games, scoring two goals and recording three assists. A season ago, Clements was an honorable mention all-conference pick.

Welch, a senior forward from Boise, Idaho, led the Saints in scoring this season. Welch scored eight goals for a team-high 16 points.

Neameyer, a senior midfielder from Bismarck, North Dakota, started 16 games and had two goals and an assist this season. It's the third time Neameyer has been selected as an honorable mention all-conference choice and in 2017 she was second team all-Cascade.

The Carroll College women begin their quest in the Cascade Collegiate Conference Tournament on Tuesday at 6 p.m. against No. 2-seed Eastern Oregon. The game can be streamed via the conference's stretch internet portal ($7.95): https://portal.stretchinternet.com/ccc/
