Carroll women's basketball opens season at home against Calgary

HELENA, Mont. -- The Carroll College women's basketball team opens up their season on Sunday in the PE Center against the University of Calgary Dinos.

"Calgary is a very good team," Saints coach Rachelle Sayers said. 'They will have played about seven games before they play us. They transition extremely hard, they rebound hard and they play really fast. They are very aggressive defensively. They press, trap and cause all kinds of havoc."

Calgary (6-0) enters the game after defeating Rocky Mountain College 76-44 prior to playing Montana Tech on Saturday night. The Dinos were powered by 20 points from Reyna Crawford in that game.

" They obviously have our full attention after beating a very good Rocky team by 30," Sayers said. "We know we will have to play well, control the tempo and take care of the basketball."

The Saints -- the coaches' pick to win the Frontier Conference -- will be getting their first court time against another opponent this season. To see how the Saints are shaping up this season, be sure to read the women's prospectus posted on CarrollAthletics.com.

The game will tipoff at 2 p.m. tomorrow and will be streamed on Carroll's YouTube page. Live stats will also be offered via DakStats.
