HELENA, Mont. – The Carroll College women's basketball team host the University of Great Falls Friday and MSU-Northern Saturday in pair of key match ups as the Saints hope to close out the season strong.
Carroll has won four of their last five games and looks to continue that upward trend against last-place UGF. Carroll topped the Argos 64-60 in overtime in the first meeting and 55-43 in the second meeting.
The Argos may only be 1-14 in Frontier play but UGF entered conference play undefeated and earned wins over Talladega and Bethel in the Top-20 Jackson Rotary Invitational on Thanksgiving weekend.
Stephanie McDonagh is putting up a gem of a season and leads UGF in points, rebounds, assists and steals.
MSU-Northern won both games against the Saints, topping Carroll 58-56 in Helena and 47-43 in Havre.
Reigning Frontier Player of the Year Natalie Faupel leads the Skylights with 16.92 points per game. Two other MSUN players average double figures.
Carroll brings a 17-9 record into the weekend, including a 7-7 Frontier mark. Carroll and Montana Tech both sit at .500 in Frontier play while Montana Western and MSU-Northern are tied for second with a 9-6 record.
Cassidy Hashley leads Carroll with a14.42 points and 9.73 rebounds per game.
Bailey Pasta averages 10.7 points for the Saints.
Friday's game will be the annual Play 4 Kay pink game. Fans are encouraged to wear pink. Saturday, Carroll will honor seniors
Baylee Watson and
Julie Caputo, who recently decided to not return for her final year of eligibility.
