Carroll Hosts Tech, LCSC

HELENA, Mont. – The 13th-ranked Carroll College women's basketball team hosts Montana Tech Thursday before hosting No. 12 Lewis-Clark Friday at the PE Center.
 
The Saints look to rebound from a 62-61 road loss against Rocky Mountain College. The Bears built a 16-point second quarter lead that the Saints eliminated but couldn't gain the lead en route to the loss.
 
Carroll is 8-4 in Frontier Conference play and 18-4 overall. Cassidy Hashley leads the Saints with 13.14 points and 7.91 rebounds per game.
 
The Diggers sit last in the Frontier with a 2-10 Frontier Conference record. they are 1-9 over their last 10 games with the lone victory in that stretch coming on the road against Rocky 64-61.
 
Sammy McGree leads Tech with 12.59 points per game and Martha Dembek is tops in the rebounding category with 6.3 rebounds per contest.
 
The Saints won both previous meetings with the Diggers, topping Tech 68-63 in Helena on Dec. 3, and winning 65-59 in Butte on Jan. 21.
 
Carroll takes on the lone team in the conference that they have yet to beat Friday. Lewis-Clark leads the Frontier with a 10-2 record, they are 19-4 overall.
 
Caelyn Orlandi is the frontrunner for Conference Player of the Year and she leads the Warriors with 14.05 points and 5.5 assists per game. Hailey Turner averages a team-high 5.91 rebounds per game.
 
The Warriors won the first meeting 64-54 in Helena and squeaked out a 71-65 double overtime win in Lewiston. Both of their conference losses came on the road.
 
Thursday, fans are encouraged to wear black as the Saints "Blackout Tech," Friday the Saints will celebrate Cancer Awareness Night.
