MISSOULA, Mont. – The 25th-ranked Carroll College women struggled to find an offensive rhythm and Taylor Goligoski scored 17 points to lead the NCAA DI University of Montana to a 61-39 exhibition win over Carroll Monday at Dahlberg Arena in Missoula.
The Saints were just 12-61(20 percent) from the field in the game while the Lady Griz were 28-54 (52 percent).
Carroll outrebounded the Griz 41-36, the Saints also shot 12 free throws while Montana made just one trip to the line.
Hannah Dean was the biggest bright spot for the Saints with 10 points and nine rebounds in 25 minutes of playing time.
Goligoski was the lone Montana player in double figures but 10 Grizzlies notched points.
The Saints kept the game close through most of the first half and trailed 17-15 with just 4:38 left in the second quarter before the Lady Griz closed on a 12-2 run to take a 29-17 lead into the break.
Montana carried the momentum of their late first-half run into the second half. The Grizzlies added to their lead until they closed out the 22-point win.
As an exhibition game this does not count towards Carroll's record and the Saints remain 3-0. It was the final action for Carroll until the Las Vegas Frontier Conference Shootout in two weeks.
