HELENA, Mont. - The United Soccer Coaches (USC) has released its postseason individual awards. Carroll's Emily Funseth has been named All-Region, Scholar All-Region, and Scholar All-American.


Emily Funseth's (Great Falls, Mont. / SR) incredible senior season continues to get more and more impressive with each passing day.

Annually, the United Soccer Coaches select postseason individual honors across each level of competition in the following categories:

Scholar All-Region
All-Region
Scholar All-American
All-American

Funseth continues a long-standing tradition of Carroll Women's Soccer players to receive the top honors doled out by the United Soccer Coaches.

Following a senior year in which she led her team in goals (10), points (24), and the highest win total in the last seven seasons, Funseth has been honored with numerous individual accolades.

Her on-field performance garnered her one of eleven spots on the NAIA All-West Region honorees, but perhaps more impressive than her performance on the pitch, was her performance in the classroom.

Funseth was one of eleven selections to the NAIA Scholar All-West Region team, and one of just four individuals named to the NAIA Scholar All-American team.

Her cumulative GPA of 3.96 is one of the highest in the program currently, and is tied for the highest of the four Scholar All-Americans.

The USC awards come on the heels of a number of conference awards Funseth accrued over the season. Twice she was named CCC Offensive Player of the Week, en route to a First Team All-CCC selection, CCC Academic All-Conference Selection, NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athlete selection, and CSC Academic All-District selection.

In addition to all of the individual accolades Funseth has acquired this season, she continues to be a leader among all Carroll student-athletes. She is heavily involved in the Carroll Student-Athlete Advisory Council, and goes above and beyond to help impact those in her community.
