HELENA, Mont. - The 2023 Academic All-District Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Three Carroll Soccer student-athletes have been recognized as Academic All-District selections for 2023.

Carroll student-athletes, Emily Funseth (Great Falls, Mont. / SR), Natalie Brown (Pasadena, Calif. / SR), and Caleb Hoxie (Helena, Mont. / SR) were all recognized for their outstanding performance on the field, and exceptional academic pursuits.

Brown and Funseth, from the Women's Soccer team, are two of the highest grade point average players on the team, and continually impress on the field. The pair helped lead a Saints team to one of the best regular season records in program history, and combined for 11 goals and eight assists on the season. 

Funseth was a First Team All-Conference selection at midfield, while Brown was named a Second Team All-Conference Defender.

On the Men's Side, Caleb Hoxie showed why he wears the captain sleeve for the Saints. Like Brown and Funseth, his GPA is among the highest on the team, and the senior leader earned First Team All-Conference honors en route to the Carroll Men's best finish since the 2018 season.

The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
 
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced December 19 (men) and December 20 (women). 

The NAIA CSC Academic All-America program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
