HELENA -- The Carroll College Saints volleyball team started their conference season with a sweep.
The Saints (13-6) took down Montana Western 3-0 -- 25-16, 25-17, 25-16 -- in Dillon at Straugh Gymnasium on Thursday.Â
Brielle Bumgarner led the Saints with 11 kills and a .474 hitting percentage.
Rayna Pilgeram kept the offense flowing with 25 assists. And
Laurel Kassa handled the defensive load, digging 15 balls.Â
Carroll came in as one of the best blocking teams in the NAIA and showed why. Bumgarner defended the net with two solo blocks and four assist blocks.Â
The win pushes Carroll's winning streak to five matches.
The Saints are back home on Saturday for their home conference opener against No. 6 Rocky Mountain College (11-1).Â
