HELENA, Mont. – The second-ranked Carroll College men's basketball team look to rebound from the first loss in 16 games Tuesday when the Saints host Rocky Mountain and Thursday when they travel to Montana Tech.
The Fighting Saints (15-1, 3-1 FC) had the best start in school history and tied the 1966-67 Carroll team for the longest win streak in school history at 15.
The Saints host a Rocky team Tuesday that is 9-6 and 1-3 in conference with the lone win coming against No. 10 LCSC Thursday in Billings. Thursday, the Saints go to Montana Tech is the only winless team in the Frontier at 8-6 overall and 0-3 in conference.
The Saints are first in NAIA DI in field goal percentage, free throw percentage, steals and second total rebound defense. Three Saints average double figures led by
Ryan Imhoff with 21.3 points per game,
Match Burnham scores 15.3 PPG and
Matt Wyman is scoring 14.6 PPG.
Imhoff leads the Saints in points, rebounds (6.0), assists (4.3), steals (3.0) and blocks (1.2).
Rocky Mountain opened the season with six straight wins but is 3-6 since that time. The Bears earned an 86-80 win over Lewis-Clark, before falling to Montana Western 103-84.
University of Montana transfer Jared Samuelson is averaging 19.6 points per game. Austin Payne averages 14.0 PPG and Latrelle Franklin is scoring 12.4 PPG.
Montana Tech is 0-3 in conference but is 3-1 in their last four games. Three Orediggers score in double figures to lead Tech. John Chapman scores 14.1 PPG, Chris O'Neill and Jake Miles add 11.3 PPG.
