Biography

As a junior in 2017-18, Match Burnham was one of the best forwards in the nation. He finished the 2017-18 season shooting 45% from the three-point line. After receiving an All-American honorable mention and Frontier Conference second team all-conference his junior season, Burnham was selected in the preseason coaches' poll to be first team all-conference.  

"He's a great three-point shooter but we're also going to look to put him on the block a lot more this year and get some inside touches," Saints coach Kurt Paulson said.
He's also put a lot of work in the weight room this summer and added 10-12 pounds of muscle. He'll have to play a lot inside this year." 

In 2015-16, Match was the only NAIA freshman in the nation to earn honorable-mention All-American distinction after being named Frontier Conference Freshman of the Year. He was third on the team in scoring with 13.0 pts per game, averaged 3.6 rebs, and was 2nd on the team in blocks. Match shot 42.9% from the three on that season.

High School: Match graduated from Liberty High School in Spangle, WA in 2015. He graduated with a 3.7 GPA and class rank of 4th. He capped his basketball career by playing in the State 2B tournament in 2015 and was given first-team 2B All-State accolades by the Associated Press as selected by sportswriters and broadcasters. Earned MVP honors in the Northeast 2B League as a senior after averaging 23.5 points per game and 10.1 rebounds per game. He was 85 percent from the free-throw line, 30.3 percent from the three-point line and 50.9 percent from the field. Burnham led the Liberty Lancers to a State 2B 5th placing in 2014, State 2B 2nd placing in 2015, and an overall record of 26-3. Burnham is a four-year letterman in both basketball and football where he was a four-year starting quarterback.

Personal: parents are Blaze and Cheri Burnham. His younger siblings, Chase and Maisie, also participate in sports. He's majoring in business.
