THIS WEEK IN CARROLL FOOTBALL The Saints host winless MSU Northern for senior day at Nelson Stadium. Carroll will hope to snap its three game losing streak to MSU Northern who is last in the Frontier in both total offense and total defense. The Saints will honor 24 seniors before the game.
LAST GAME: SAINTS FALL TO MONTANA TECH Nolan Saraceni racked up 273 yards rushing and four touchdowns rushing and also threw for a touchdown out of the wildcat to lead No. 12 Montana Tech to a 42-7 win over No. 18 Carroll College at Nelson Stadium Saturday.
The Saints struggled to find footing in any aspect of the game. The Carroll offense tallied 190 yards of offense while the Saints defense gave up 323 rushing to the Tech rushing attack dominated by a Wildcat offense.
Carroll's lone touchdown came on a 16-yard pass from
Mac Roche to
Stephen Delaney to cap an eight-play, 60-yard drive.
Conner Poulson led the Saints with 101 yards rushing on 15 carries.
The Saints gave up two interceptions, one returned for a Tech touchdown, and a fumble on the Carroll four-yard line.
ABOUT MSU NORTHERN First-year coach Aaron Christensen inherited a program with just a few seniors and a lot of work to do. The Lights have struggled under the circumstances. Allowing 50.9 points per game while putting up just 9.9 points on average.
Junior defensive lineman Tyler Craig leads the MSU Northern defense with 7 total sacks on the season and is in the top 50 in the nation in five statistical categories.
The Lights' offense is led by signalcaller Jess Krahn who has 103 completions for 1026 yards but he has also thrown 10 interceptions. Zach McKinley is averaging 106.1 yards per game on the season and has three rushing touchdowns.Â

• After tallying an atypical 15 penalties against Southern Oregon to start the season, the Saints have cut their penalty yards significantly and are now second in the conference in penalty yards per game.
• The Saints are ranked third in the Frontier Conference for scoring defense but have yet to meet MSU-Northern who is averaging just 6.8 points per game.

Mac Roche Ranks 20th in the NAIA for passing yards per game with 221.6 yards.
• Roche ranks in the top 50 in the NAIA in passing yards per game, total passing, total offense per game, total offense and pass efficiency.
• Roche was named the Frontier Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against SOU.
James Dowgin was named the Defensive Player of the Week for the performance against UMW.

Beaugh Meyer is 16th in the nation for tackles for loss per game at 1.6.
• Southern Oregon's 20 points against Carroll in week one was the lowest point output since a 2011 loss to Mary Hardin Baylor.
• Roche's four touchdown passes against Rocky Mountain is the high to date for the Frontier Conference.

James Dowgin is second in the Frontier for tackles per game at 10.7.
Greg Tucker is fifth with 8.7.

Connor Fohn scored his first touchdowns as a Saint against Rocky Mountain and followed that up with a third quarter go-ahead score against Montana Western. The first was a 50-yard touchdown in the third quarter. The second was the game-winning 55-yarder with seven second remaining.
• Fohn broke out with 148 receiving yards on four catches against Rocky and followed that up with 137 yards against Montana Western.
• Running back
Ryan Walsh is first on the team with 25 catches and is second on the team with 312 receiving yards.
• Walsh is fourth in the Frontier for receiving yards per game at 52 YPG.

Beaugh Meyer is tied for second in the conference for tackles for loss per game at 1.5 and tied for 10th in the Frontier for sacks per game at 0.4.

• The Saints were unranked this week for the first time in a record 187 weeks in the poll. The last time Carroll was unranked was Oct. 31 2000.
