NORTHBROOK, Ill. - Redshirt Junior linebacker Henry Gross has been selected as a nominee for the 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, which recognizes those who are making an impact through community service, academic achievement and leadership through causes ranging from maternal health and youth mentorship to supporting children with disabilities and veterans.

Gross, a Helena native, is one of just six NAIA nominees and 162 total nominees for the honor. The final roster of the 2026 Good Works Team will be announced in September and consist of 22 football student-athletes and one honorary head coach. 

Gross is among the most active student-athletes on Carroll's campus, finding a variety of ways to make an impact in the Helena community and beyond. He was part of a volunteer dental mission to the Nazareth Home for Gods Children Orphanage in Sang, Ghana, helping provide much needed accessible dental work for Children without resources. He is the current President of the Carroll College Pre-Dental Club Vice President of the Carroll College Red-Cross Club, organizing drives for the Helena area Red Cross, as well as Treasurer of the Carroll College Culture Club, and a regular volunteer for Florence-Crittenton family services.

A returning defensive starter, Gross is a continued leader of the Carroll Football 'Boys to Men program', a student-led initiative teaching incoming freshman how to respect females, and educate on sexual violence/awareness. He also is one of four Carroll Football student-athletes who serve on the Carroll College Student-Athlete Advisory Council.

A Two-time Frontier Conference Academic All-Conference selection, Gross has also twice been named NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athlete, and a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selection.

On the field, Gross was named a  2026 Frontier Conference-West Honorable Mention All-Conference selection, and has 98.0 career tackles, 19.5 TFL, and 9.0 sacks throughout his Carroll career - starting each game over the past two seasons.
