2014: Started all 12 games at free safety... had 69 total tackles... tallied three interceptions and 10 passes defended... Earned Second-Team AFCA All-American honors... First Team All-Frontier Conference.

2013: Started all 14 games at free safety... he had 85 total tackles... had seven interceptions which led the conference... had 15 pass breakups... Second-Team All-American... First-Team All Conference... Academic All-Conference.

2012: Appeared in five games as a defensive back... he had14 tackles... recovered one fumble and deflected one pass.

High School: James earned All-Conference recognition at receiver and defensive back in 2010 and 2011 at Greeley West High school... received All-State defensive back in 2010 and All-State wide receiver in 2011... named the Northern Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2011... voted team MVP in 2010 and 2011... two year captain for football, basketball and baseball... selected as the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Scholar Athlete... graduated with a 4.0 GPA.
