Helena, Mont. – Carroll Track & Field earned a Conference Champion and three new National Qualifying marks at the Trudnowski Open on Friday and Saturday.

The meet served as the Frontier Conference Championships for the Decathlon and Heptathlon. Carroll's Carson Krack won his first Conference Championship, setting a personal record in 7 of 10 events for an overall personal best in the Decathlon. He moves up to 3rd All-Time for Carroll and is currently 1st in the NAIA. Tucker Monaco placed 2nd, Jackson Tarum 4th, and Connor Tuss 6th, bringing Carroll's total points scored to 23. Tarum's mark bumps him to 8th at Carroll.

Katelyn Christensen placed 2nd for the Saints in the Heptathlon, and Anna Hume and Sorren Reese were 4th and 5th respectively. Christensen's mark set a personal best.

The Saints gained a group of new National Qualifiers over the course of the meet. Brynn Wandle hit the B Standard in the Pole Vault. Madalen Shipman set a personal best in the 800m, also making the B Standard. Her time moves her to 4th on Carroll's Top 10 Lists and 12th in the NAIA this year. The Men's 4x800m Relay of Wyatt Ehredt, Zack Gacnik, Oliver Morris, and Jack Jensen ran the B Standard in their event as well.

In other highlights, Weston Means won the High Jump, advancing his outdoor mark to the NAIA A Standard. For the second week in a row, Tim Sellars extended his own school record in the Hammer Throw. Reuben Hornby looked back to his 2024 form, throwing within 1 meter of the National Standard in the Javelin. Claire Bucklin set another personal record in the 400m Hurdles, honing in on the B Standard in that event and climbing to 5th All-Time at Carroll.

Many other athletes set personal bests during the meet: Treyton Graham (400m), Morris (1500m), Daniel Koralewski (1500m),  Brycen Gardner (5000m), Luke Decker (5000m), Jackson Swanz (110m Hurdles), Colin Stoddard (Pole Vault), Hunter Gum (Discus), Landen Conner (Javelin), Ellie Baxter (1500m), Erika Arthur (5000m), Grace Schopp (5000m), Nina Badger (5000m), and Abigail McBeain (Discus). Katlyn Jablonski debuted in the Pole Vault, and Audrey VanWestrienen ran her first race in a Carroll uniform after a year of persevering through injury. Nikki Nau ran a great race in her first track 5000m.

"Our momentum just keeps going in the right direction," said Head Coach Harry Clark. "We had success across a bunch of different events today and as a team overall we are getting better and better," he added.
