ORANGE CITY, Iowa - The Carroll College Cheer and Dance teams completed their two-day competitions at the Northwestern Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
Both the Cheer and Dance teams got their first taste of group competition this weekend, competing against several other teams from around the Midwest at Northwestern. The competitions carried over a two-day stretch, but were scored on an individual basis on each day.
CHEER:
The Saints scored 58.52 on the first day of competition, finishing in eighth-place for the Friday event. They followed it up with a 58.66 on Saturday, bettering their score en route to a seventh place finish to cap their weekend.
DANCE:
On the Dance side of the action, the Saints finished ninth on Friday evening with a routine score of 56.07, they too bettered their score on the second day of the event, scoring 59.00 on Saturday.
Next weekend in Helena, the Carroll Dance team will make history by hosting Lewis-Clark State in a dual meet for their first official home contest in program history.
While not competing, the Carroll Cheer team will also perform their routine following completion of the Dance competition.
