HELENA, Mont. - Both the Carroll College Cheer and Dance teams will be back in action for their second-ever competition this weekend, as they each will compete at the Northwestern Invitational in Orange City, Iowa on Friday and Saturday.

With their first official competitive events in the books last month at Dickinson State, both the Cheer and Dance teams will look to build on lessons learned.

The inaugural event was a success for each program, and now both are looking to take a step forward. They'll have their opportunity this weekend as they compete in a large gathering of NAIA teams from throughout the country for the two-day meet in Iowa.

On the Cheer side of the action, the Saints will compete against the following schools: Mount Marty (S.D), Dordt (Iowa), Grand View (Iowa), Morningside (Iowa), York (Neb.), Midland (Neb.), Dickinson State (N.D.) and host-school Northwestern.

Competing against the Saints on the Dance side of the event is York, College of Saint Mary, (Neb.), Northwestern, Dordt, Morningside, Viterbo (Wisc.), Grand View, and Midland.

Both the Cheer and Dance teams are slated to lead off their respective competitions on Friday night. The Cheer team will take to the mat at 4:31 p.m. for their routine, and the Dance team will begin their portion of the event at 5:48 p.m.

On Saturday, Cheer will be in the middle of the pack with a 10:45 a.m. scheduled performance time, with the Dance team slated to perform at 12:37 p.m.
