HELENA, Mont. - The Carroll College golf teams are ready for their second event of the 2023-24 season, the Argo Invitational at Meadowlark Country Club in Great Falls.
The Fighting Saints will look to improve upon last week's third (Women) and fifth (Men) place finishes in the season opener at Butte Country Club.
On the Men's side of the action, a young Carroll squad has another opportunity to get valuable tournament experience this weekend in Great Falls. The team, comprised mainly of underclassmen, showed promise at the opening event of the year, with several rounds posted in the 70's. Consistency will be key for the year, and the team will look to string together several good rounds in Great Falls.
Celi Chapman (Montana City, Mont. / FR) and
Katie Fagg (Missoula, Mont. / SR) had a great start to the 2023-24 season. Chapman finished solo-third and Fagg finished solo-fourth in the individual portion of the event in Butte. The pair will look to repeat the performance again in Great Falls, alongside some improved rounds from the back-end of the Saints starting five to help bump the team up the leaderboard this week.
Meadowlark Country Club, the host site of this week's event is widely regarded as one of the state's best courses. A tight, tree-lined course that runs along the Missouri River will provide a challenge to all of the Frontier teams in attendance this week.
Live scoring for the event can be followed on the Golf Genius app. Users will need to input the GGID: ARGO2023 to follow the action live.
