DICKINSON, N.D. - After one full day at the first full field event of the new-look Frontier Conference, the Carroll Golf teams are right in the middle of the pack. The Women sit in a tie for third, while the Men are fifth following day one play at the Dickinson State University Invitational at Heart River Golf Course.

Coming off of a top-three finish at the Providence Invite last week in Great Falls, Ellie Stastny (Murtaugh, Idaho / SO) finds herself in eighth place, just seven strokes off of the lead at five-over to pace the Carroll Women. Right behind Stastny on the leaderboard in a tie for tenth, Stella Claridge (Kalispell, Mont. / SR) posted an opening round 78 (+6), while twin sister Alli Stastny (Murtaugh, Idaho / SO) also broke 80 with a seven-over round of 79. 

Maddy Olson (Spokane, Wash. / JR) shot a career-best round of 84 (+12) to cap the Carroll scores, while Ellie Baxter (Thompson Falls, Mont. / JR) rounded out the five with a 94 (+22).

As a team, the Women sit tied for third with Bellevue at +30, trailing Montana Tech by 18 stokes and tournament leader Rocky by 23 strokes.

On the Men's side of the action, Hudson Reinke (Filer, Idaho / SO) fired the team's best round of the day in the morning 18, shooting an even par 72. He went on to finish the day at +6 after shooting a second round 78, and is tied for 17th. Tanner Cromwell (Anaconda, Mont. / SO) was the next best Fighting Saint after two rounds, firing 75-78 to sit at eight-over for the day. Kyle Kennah (Laurel, Mont. / SO) was right behind him, shooting 76-77 to finish at nine-over, while Jackson Hammond (Flagstaff, Ariz. / JR) shot back-to-back rounds of 78. TJ Fierling (North Bend, Wash. / JR) shot an opening round 75, but fell off the pace in the second round with an 81 in round two to round out the Carroll five.

The Men enter the final round fifth in the team competition with a a two round total of +32. Rocky Mountain College leads the event, sitting at -27 through two rounds, with Bellevue the only other team under par (-13).

Final round play from Heart River Golf Course is set to begin at 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
