HENDERSON, Nev. - The Carroll College Golf Teams got back into the swing of things on Wednesday, playing the opening rounds their first tournament of the spring, the Las Vegas Warrior Classic at the Legacy Golf Club.

In their first action since last September, the Fighting Saints had to shake the winter rust. Entering final round play, the Women sit ninth with a team score of 701 (355-346, +125) , while the Men are 10th at 669 (332-337, +93). 

Allie Stastny (Murtaugh, Idaho / SO) paced the Saints on the Women's side, sitting +29 for the tournament with rounds of 87-86. Addison Slivinski (Montpelier, Idaho / FR) was one stroke off, finishing the day +30 with back-to-back rounds of 87, while Ellie Stastny (Murtaugh, Idaho / SO) battled back from a shaky opening round to sit two strokes back of her twin sister at +31 (93-82). Stella Claridge rounded out the scoring at +35 (88-91).

Over on the Men's side, Tanner Cromwell (Anaconda, Mont. / SO) leads Carroll after one day with a two-round score of +20 (81-83). Like the Women, the Carroll Men have three players seperated by just one stroke, as TJ Fierling (North Bend, Wash. / JR) is +21 (84-81) Kyle Kennah (Laurel, Mont. / SO) sits +22 (79-87). JT Slivinski's (Montpelier, Idaho / JR) opening round 88 was a counter for the Men, while Hudson Reinke (Filer, Idaho / SO) shot 86 in the second round to cap the Carroll scoring. Jackson Hammond (Flagstaff, Ariz. / JR), competing as an individual is +29 (85-88).

Both teams will look to make up ground in tomorrow's final round, with a shotgun start slated for 9 a.m.
