Marion, Ind. – Saints Track & Field had a strong Day 1 at the NAIA Outdoor National Championships taking place at Indiana Wesleyan University from May 24-26.
Brett Glaser is in 3
rd Place after the first day of the Decathlon. He won the Shot Put, setting a personal record. He also ran a lifetime best in the 100m and was 2
nd in the 400m with his fastest time ever during a Decathlon. Glaser is poised for a great Day 2 with several of his best events coming up in the second half of the event taking place on Thursday.
Reuben Hornby (Javelin) and
Brycen Gardner (3000m Steeplechase) both moved up from their initial ranking in their first National meet, ending in 18
th and 17
th respectively. Gardner did not make the final but was the highest placing freshman in the event.
Chloe Gallagher did not clear her opening height in the Pole Vault.
Two Carroll athletes will be in action on Day 2 of the meet. The Decathlon will begin again at 10:00 am Eastern on Thursday. It will include the 110m Hurdles, Discus, Pole Vault, Javelin, and 1500m. A schedule change in the Discus will shift
Garrett Kocab's event later into the evening: it will start at 6:30 pm Thursday.
