Helena, Mont. – The Carroll College Track and Field team continues the outdoor season at the Al Manuel Invite in Missoula, Mont. on Friday March 27 and Saturday March 28.
The Fighting Saints will compete against the University of Montana, Montana State, Montana Tech, Montana Western, and Dawson Community College.
The Saints will send a total of 27 women and 17 men to the meet. This will be the opening competition of the year for Carroll's 3000m Steeplechase runners. The Steeple is only contested at certain meets this season and will be raced this weekend by
Brycen Gardner,
Luke Decker,
Oliver Morris,
Logan Anderson,
Jenna Castro,
Amelia Mayes,
Sophie Sestrich, and
Claire Boutilier.
Besides Gardner, who has qualified for nationals in the 3000m Steeplechase the past three years and was an All-American last year, several other previous national qualifiers will compete.
Carson Krack was the 2025 Outdoor National Champion in the Decathlon as well as an All-American in the Indoor Heptathlon the last two years. He is entered in a variety of events.
Reuben Hornby will start his final college campaign in the Javelin after his 2nd Place finish at Outdoor Nationals last year, and
Jack Jensen will race in the open 800m after qualifying for the last 3 National meets in relays or open events.
For the women, All-American
Madalen Shipman (3rd Place 2025 Indoor - 600m, 5th Place 2025 Outdoor - 800m) will return to the track for her final season, opening in the 1500m.
Brynn Wandle, fresh off of a 4th Place All-American finish in Indoor, will jump in the Pole Vault on Saturday.
Claire Bucklin will transition to her strongest event, the 400m Hurdles which she competed in at Outdoor Nationals last spring.
On Friday, field events begin at 1:00 pm Mountain Time on a rolling schedule. With Saints competing in the second event (Javelin) it is expected they will begin competition around 4:00 pm. Field events begin at 10:00 am Saturday and running events will start at 11:15 am.
